We have some of the best instructors in the world;
not everyone is suited to work for us. Instructor
Applicants must successfully complete our Instructor
Training Course (ITC) and Apprentice Program to become
an Lead Instructor. The ITC is intensive and will
prepare you to teach wilderness medicine. ITC students
are preassigned specific lecture topics, skill sessions,
and PAS drills to present during the ITC. The course
closes with the ITC students teaching a local Wilderness
First Aid Workshop. Each WFA class day is followed
by an evening feedback session. Enrollment is limited
to six students and taught at the WMTC classroom.
Applicants Must demonstrate mastery of:

Wilderness medicine •
Didactic and experiential teaching •
Basic outdoor expedition skills • Advanced outdoor skill in one of
the following areas: climbing,
mountaineering, whitewater
paddling, sailing, skiing, and/or sea
kayaking.
